I won this book in a first-reads giveaway. I actually enjoyed it quite a bit, but only three stars because it took so long for me to start enjoying it. I got about two hundred pages in before it really started to get interesting. At that point it turned into a very different story that I didn't want to put down.

While I would say that this book certainly promotes some sexist ideas about several things, it does so in a way that is so obviously fictitious that it isn't really offensive. For me it was almost like this story pretty instantaneously turned from a very serious one into a radical work of fiction that I found quite entertaining.

This book is probably more aimed at female readers, although I eventually found it to be pretty intriguing. Overall I thought it was good, but not great. I can think of several friends, mostly women, however, that would probably enjoy it more than I did.
