How can you not love a book where the narrator is a dog on the last day of his life, recounting his relationship with his owner? Enzo is the loyal and beloved dog of Denny, an aspiring race car driver. Enzo is a beautiful and irresistable character. He is full of wonderful wisdom, though some of the racing descriptions and analogies were beyond my understanding. The book leans heavily on sentiment and melodrama but, as with most dogs, I couldn't resist the charms of Enzo!
