I didn't enjoy this as much as I enjoyed the first book (Becoming Marie Antoinette). This one started to get confusing with so many names, and occurrences that although they did happen, it wasn't until after the event that I could understand where J.Grey was going with it. I would have liked a little introduction to the necklace scandal. I feel sad for Louis & Marie. It's weird to think that if certain things wouldn't have happened (France's support during US revolution) would Marie and the USA have had a totally different outcome? I will read the third and final trilogy even though I know the ending. It was helpful for me to have read the Michelle Moran(?) Madame Tussaud book prior to reading this one.
