Princess Goewin, twin of Prince Lleu, and daughter of King Artos, flees Britain after her father and brother's deaths in a battle inadvertantly caused by Medraut, the king's eldest son. She flees to Aksum, an African kingdom, where Constantine, her betrothed, is an ambassador. She must struggle agaisnt the political turmoil in the country and reach the emperor before it's too late.
