** spoiler alert ** A novel made of three not very similar stories. In the first, an Indian imbecile who works as a servant for an Indian diplomat emigrates to USA. In the second another Indian imbecile from Jamaica emigrates to Britain and works in a cigarette factory and then blows it all on a mangy restaurant. In the last and longest story, an ill man and a woman drive through a post-colonial African state to a compound, and have an exchange near the end that I couldn't make out.

It was written in the 1970s and its dead in period.
