Read from January 11 to 13, 2012 — I own a copy

The young characters in this book aren't 100% believable -- they're more charming and precocious by a wide margin than seems really plausible -- but they're characters I wish existed in real life, the sort that, certain afflictions aside, I hope mine grow up to be. Green's prose goes down easily, and although he's billed as an author of Young Adult fiction, the ideas he expresses, sometimes very beautifully if a little quotably, resonated with this grown-up as well. Some of this is hard reading for a parent and probably hard reading for kids too, though for different reasons. A wonderful book that, save the early peek I took at the first chapter, I read in one sitting.
