This popular author has very poor theology and it comes out in his book. I find it offensive when he makes up stories about historical figures without any supporting evidence and gives these historical figures characteristics and traits that are clearly negative. Slander would be the charges against him if he wrote about anyone alive today and said such made up things. I'm sure the author thinks he is just making the book interesting, or assisting him in his point. Still, if I wanted to make a point about not cheating on your taxes, I could write a story that said Paulo Coelho lied about his income and used the money he should have paid in taxes to buy cocaine. This would be slander....as I have no evidence of such.....he does the same in this book and also in the Alchemist. He is careless with the historical record, and in the end creates a philosophy that he protrays as Christian, but in the end is new age and anti Christian.
