Read in January, 2000

Set in a modern-ish version of the Wild West, and reads similarly. The book is actually good, the writing is nice (if you ignore the complete lack of quotation marks anywhere), the story is... er...
So anyway, this is a tale about how trying to do a good thing can ruin your life and the lives of everyone you know.

I don't actually know how to rate this - some aspects are good, some are terrible, so I guess I'll stick with 4 stars and an asterisk.
