This book was some where between a pulp and a science fiction. What hurt it, I think, is that there wasn't enough of one thing or the other. The lead character Rad Bradbury was a good point of view to follow -- he leads the reader thru the events that gradually become two big for him to handle. But he lacks something that a good pulp hero should have -- some secret insight, something he keeps hidden. When it comes down to it, he is more Sam Spade than Wesely Dodds or Jim Corrigan.
Overall the idea of the book was interesting but I would have liked at least a little more science backing it :-).
