As a redheaded child, I both identified with and hated Anne of Green Gables. I hated it because I kept getting it as a gift just because I had red hair. But at the same time, I liked it because Anne does not like her red hair either. Luckily, we both learned to like it.
So, I decided to give the book another go on audiobook since I didn't remember much of it. It was so enjoyable, much more involved than I had remembered. Also, I hadn't remembered very much about the other characters, such as Marilla. I really liked the way that Montgomery developed her character and perspective in the story.
I found myself very sad this morning that it was over, and I've now got a hold on Anne of Avonlea.
