really liked it

This book is so bizarrely awesome. I love Candlewick - would any other publishing house have published something so insane? This book seems like such a gamble. Ah but I loved it.

Also, I have to say - Hautman has BALLS. Not quite on the same level as Pullman, but impressive nonetheless.

I ALSO have to say that people who call this a dystopia make me want to fly into a rage. People, people pleeeease you must know: This is plain old science fiction. Strange and terrifying in parts, but science weirdness + conflict =/= dystopia. Some books that people put this label on I can sort of see - Variant, Across the Universe have elements. But there is zero here. Nothing. Really. Honestly. NOT a dystopia.
