If you like Hemingway's work, you'll like these. I tend to like it more than dislike it, I must say, but I don't think he's as good as Hemingway afficionados claim him to be. A range of stories here, of varying lengths, featuring the usual Hemingway themes of war, Spain, bullfighting, hunting, shooting and fishing and other manly pursuits. Though his stories of washed-up bullfighters, lonely men who head off into the wilds, and shell-shocked, war-weary soldiers create a great atmosphere, most of all I liked the stories that don't fit into these parameters.
