Halfway in and it's all I can do to get through it. If you are a socially responsible and career-minded person, but enjoy reading about characters that are so totally unlike you, go for it.

I realize not every book is gonna have a character I can relate to but...grr. I can't even live vicariously through these characters because I couldn't find a redeeming quality to identify with. Toss it up to the Beat Generation, fine, but I needed a little more to work with to get through this book. Maybe Ritalin woulda helped.
