Simply looking at the title would lead me to think I would be less than optimistic by its completion. (Being a citizen of the nation that the world was about to disavow)

Yet I have had quite the opposite reaction. I am greatly excited about this nations future and the future of the world as a result of Zakaria's outstanding review of the results of globalization.

Only 250 pages in length while full of insight and information.

The Post-American World starts from the beginning, how did America become the lone superpower in a strangely unpredicted unipolar world. How did globalization change the playing field. Then the strengths and weaknesses of America are detailed along with the best descriptions of modern China and India that I have ever read.

Finally, the book closes by covering the power of America and last of all the steps America must take in the future to excel in this new world.
