Little Bee is a powerful novel of a teenage girl who goes by the name of Little Bee. She is a refugee in the United Kingdom. Her life intertwines with the O' Rourke's. Life begins to unfold and the novel takes you on an emotional roller coaster. This novel demonstrates the struggle of the life of a refugee who becomes an illegal immigrant after enduring two years in a detention facility. Through self taught English, Little Bee is able to communicate and understand everything around her. The life of Sarah O' Rourke and Little Bee will define and test the issue of ethics or society standards. A haunting novel that will be worth the read.

If you've read Little Bee and are looking for other books just like Little Bee here are some suggestions: Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet by Jaime Ford, Incendiary by Chris Cleave. Jaime Ford's novel deals with refugees and the aspect of how hard life can be. Chris Cleave's Incendiary has a lot of loss and family torn apart.
