I really don't know what it is about Markus Zusak's writing that really gets to me, but I love it. I started this series of three stories with this book, which is the second of the three. I instantly connected with the story and all of the characters. I can't even say which character I liked better because I loved them all. The story is about strength in the face of adversity, family standing by and up for each other, and the bond between brothers. Boxing was a great way to show the strengths and weakness of each of these boys, in the ring and in life. Reuben and Cameron jumped off the pages right at me. Each feel as if they are the one lacking while their brother is larger than life, but they are both exceptional-in only slightly different ways. Great story, I love this author and hope he has something new in the works.
