So I was waiting for a while to read this collection. These books came out just a little before my time, and by the time I was getting into comics there was stuff like Jhonny the Homicidal Maniac for me to latch onto to feed my kind of goths/wacky tendencies. Granted Jhonny wasnt actually meant for goths and made frequent fun of them, to the same degree Sandman isnt meant for goths per se it's just an overall sensitive, artsy, gothic-horror comic that came out at the exact time it was needed.

When it came out in this ultra slick beautiful version, I really couldn't help myself, I have the next one as well but I might take a break as I need to read some borrowed books before I can get choosier. I may be loving my kindle for my paperback whoring tendencies, but I will always get hard copies of comics, art books, and reference books.

Overall this is an absolutely gorgeous version of this story that I can genuinely recommend, they really knew what they were doing when they decided to make this ultimate version. Some people were complaining about the spine quality, but honestly if the wanted a sewn back they would have been paying upwards of 250$. And I'm not one to worry too much unless pages get loose, so I'm actually quite satisfied with the quality and the people who are bitching can suck it.

Adriane So far I'm liking the Nada story the most, it was well written, well drawn, a complete story in one issue and ultimately satisfying as both a fable and a rite of passage. This comic will take me a while to read due to its sheer size. Tis is not one you can take down to the coffee house and read in an hour.

Adriane New favorite, 1000 dreaming cats.
