Part of my "great books in American history series" (or books I tell my students they should read but have not read myself). Pretty impressive book (nice pictures). You can see why people freaked out about DDT and started the environmental movement. She writes persuasively, but I wonder how correct she is. E.O. Wilson writes the afterword.
