115996 I just find her books hard. Hard to find a good lesson in, hard to be intrigued by. I really liked "The Giver." It was clever and sweet. The Messenger was alright, but I couldn't stand Gathering Blue. There was no point from start to finish, no climax, no resolution to any important problem. Just an ending. And not even a satisfying, or well-written, or interesting one at that. But Messenger was interesting.

899728 I understand what you mean. Some people have a charm and some people don't. They may have a talent at writing and making things interesting, but these are just ideas. Some are truly meant to write and those authors are writing not from ideas, but from thoughts. It all depends on the person.

115996 Yea, that's what I meant, I guess. Do you like Lois Lowry?

899728 I have heard good things about a couple of his books, but never had enough interest to actually read them.

115996 The Giver is a really good book to read, much more interesting, but I think Lois Lowry is a she.
