Alia Muhammed Baker is the librarian of Basra who personally saved 70% of her library during the invasion of Iraq. This picture book tells Baker's story. She appeals for help, but is turned down, so she takes it into her own hands by quietly moving the books at night. Then, when the war reaches Basra, Baker gets help from a neighbor and moves all of the books.

What a great story--made all the more moving because of its truth. The book tells Baker's story simply, but effectively and it a great book and story for any book lover. I would've done the exact same thing!
