This is a contemporary novel infulenced by the Bernie Madoff Ponzi scheme. In this case, Abe Cushman, former chairman of the NASDAQ stock exchange commits suicide when his Ponzi scheme comes to light.

Patrick Lloyd a young Wall St. advisor to a major Swiss bank, is called into the corporate office and ordered to find Lilly Scanlon and the money she manipulated while she was an executive with the bank. This was in connection to the Ponzi scheme.

Scanlon is Lloyd's girlfriend. She tells him that she's being set up and that some of the money in question is from Cushman's investors who are criminals and will stop at nothing to get their money.

Scanlon and Lloyd decide to work together and both are threatened by criminals. Then something comes out about Patrick's past.

This isn't just a financial thriller but deals with other important issues such as the failure of the witness portection plan and the greed existing today and what people will do in order to make money even if it is illegal.

The author has captured the innocence of two main protagonists and shown how that innocence can be destroyed in a world of government ignorance and corruption at the highest levels.
