This was a surprisingly delightful read. I don't normally expect much out of this genre, but the plot was actually quite good. I've never read one of Spear's Wolf novels before (and I wasn't at all confused with this one, despite it's being the 7th in the series, as it can be a stand-alone), so I wasn't expecting anything more than the average wolf novel, which is becoming as common as vampire and zombie novels. But this particular novel's setting in a modern, non-fantastical (excepting the werewolves, of course) world with a decent action-mystery-romance plot line was refreshing. The writing didn't stand out at all, but I didn't expect it to. There was one particular paragraph I rolled my eyes at for it's over-used cliches, but I glanced past most other writing errors. A good enough read for me to inquire into the other novels in her Wolf series.
