I was surprised by the villagers reactions to the missionaries and how the villagers didn't see the missionaries as a threat or react violently. Even though they fail to acknowledge their gods, they didn't thrust Christianity upon the villagers by any means. I'm interested to see what happens between the villagers and missionaries in the coming chapters."

Okonkwo killed himself because of his inability to deal with what was happening. This is ironic because showing weakness and failure are his worst fears. The societal tragedy left me with an empty feeling and lack of understanding."
