This is one of the best feel good, restore your faith inhumanity novels I have enjoyed in a very long time! It may mean more, personally, since my family has received the brest fortune of getting neighbors, with whom we have become close friends, who are Mennonite; this is one of many Amish-like "Plain People" faiths & lifestyles. I read this novel last year & immediately purchased it for out home library. I "forced" our family to begin reading it aloud together last year, but time constraints prevented us getting too far; I refuse to give up on this winter break for our collegiate son, since next year we will have two! I know they will actually love it, so I will do some creative bribing! It is a short, simple read you will forever be grateful you bothered with!!
