I hesitate between a 3 and 4 for this book. But I'll give it the benefit of the doubt and just assign a 4. It was a fun read and best of all I got it free for my kindle. The writing isn't memorable, but the story, in general, is good.

Things I like:
1 - The antagonistic relationship between Rogan and Wolfe. From the start any reader could see what was coming. I did like their bickering, especially in the beginning. It did get old toward the end of the book...

2 - Wolfe's character. :) Kir's character. Rogan's was good when she wasn't annoying me by running off in the name of protecting someone else...

Things I don't like:
1 - Rogan never seems to learn. The author repeats the classic scenario too many times. Rogan must go off on her own, she is captured, someone is captured with her, they escape, repeat. Until finally, Rogan must go off on her own, she is captured, NO one is captured with her, she is escapes... and no repeat... After the second repeat of the formula it was getting a bit old. Especially with the lewd comments and everyone wanting to rape her. It is always odd to me when everyone seems to want the main character. This particular part of the story was overdone.

2 - The story was engaging but as I said seemed to be formulaic and simplistic. Hopefully as the author continues to develop she can create more engaging stories and plot lines that don't feel like repeats of this or other stories.
