This is certainly the best of Tom Perotta's books. It is suspenseful, well-paced, and mature, with intriguing and interesting character studies. In addition, the ending where all of the main character's lives converge in one fateful moment was satisfying, clever, and realistic. Unfortunately, the other two books that followed this one failed to even come close, and were too full of teenage sex and sex jokes that added nothing to the premise of the story. The Leftovers in particular seemed to hold alot of promise, and had an original story line, but disappointed in the end.
