Robert Kirkman's high quality zombie apocalypse series continues, delivering some interesting twists and turns in this edition. Kirkman demonstrates a solid command of pacing in book four of The Walking Dead, mixing long stretches of "normal life" (whatever that means in this world) with solid bursts of suspense. Memorable characters are introduced - including a villain, and the series continues exploring the dark side of human nature in a manner still reminiscent of The Road. My main question, at this point, is when if ever will our protagonists find a stable life, however dreary it might be? Or are they doomed to forever search for safety and security until they perish?
