it was ok
bookshelves: 2012, about-school, picture, children-s, graphic-novel

I really liked the format of this book -- 6 short stories illustrated in a graphic novel format. The illustrations are okay and the stories are okay and it all adds up to an okay book. Lots of my students, especially my second and third graders, love O'Malley's work. They're sure to be fans of 4. Desk Time Jokes and 6. Sue Smallton, The Incredible Shrinkinggirl.

The beginning of the story opens with a brief 'history' of desks. I wish that this part of the book would have actually been based on fact with credit to sources.

This is one that I'll purchase for my school library collection but that I'll skip as a read aloud or lesson.
