Stop in the Name of Pants (Confessions of Georgia Nicolson)
by Louise Rennison
I totally agree with you about the covers... I HATE the new covers. Georgia is far too pretty and put together. Totally not what I view. I LOVED the cartoony covers. And you're right, it does look like every other book on the shelf!
I hate the new covers too! Still, I think these books are hilarious.
I did want to mention - I agree that the Emma/Ellen thing was confusing, but I think you're mistaken in thinking they are errors. There are two different characters: Emma, who is Dave the Laugh's girlfriend, and Ellen, who is just another member of Georgia's Ace Gang.
Yeah I thought that too, cause Ellen was with Dave the Laugh for awhile, but after re-reading it, I'm still convinced it's an error.
I think we should for a group, haters of the new covers unite!
I think it's an error as well (on the names) because it doesn't make sense where they switch... not like they're talking about one girl and then the other... sounds like the same girl. Totally in for the group. I never shut up about the covers -- I hate them!

Not really any plot to speak of, not that there usually is in these books, but it seemed even less so in this one. Lack of plot doesn't make it unenjoyable though, it's still funny and a bit daft.
A few complaints, "osity" seems to be tagged onto way too many words, in fact while originally it was cute the over abundance of its usage has made it very annoying in this newest book.
My main problem though was that this book looks to have had no Copy Editor, there are sooooo many spelling, grammer, continuity and name reversal errors that it gets distracting (in one paragraph Dave's girlfriend, whose name is Emma, is referenced as Emma, then Ellen, then Emma again), plus the obviousness of them makes me assume that this book must have been pushed out to meet a deadline for the publisher verus spending the extra day to get everything right.
And a final note, go back to the original American Design, I HATE HATE HATE the new photographs and larger format, they were so cut...more
