One of the kids I work with told me to read this. The cover art and my preconception that it would be a R.L. Stine knockoff had me set on skeptical, but I enjoyed it. First, there was the premise that children are more qualified than adults to combat demons because children have imaginations that are unlimited. Then, I was intrigued by the connections to Dante's "Inferno," as well as Jonah and the whale. I also learned something about fantasy illustrators, and kept turning those pages. Fun.
