It's not easy being Percy Jackson, the illegitimate child of a god. It's even rougher when that god happens to be Poseidon, the temperamental ancient Greek god of the sea! One minute, you're getting kicked out of yet another boarding school, and the next, you're fighting a minotaur and moving to a summer camp full of other half-gods. Getting sent on a quest to retrieve Zeus' stolen property didn't happen to be in Percy's summer plans. What's a demigod to do?

The Percy Jackson series has become hugely popular, and with good reason! Modern culture interweaves with elements from ancient Greek mythology to form an interesting, imaginative spin on the material. This book is a heck of a lot of fun and holds a broad appeal for adventure fans and lovers of myths. Percy bounces from one off-the-wall adventure to the next, fighting mythological monsters and smarting off to the gods.
