"Positively" written by Courtney Sheinmel was a very emotional story about a girl and her mother who are diagnosed with HIV positive, better known as AIDS.This book showed me that being healthy and happy is many kids' dreams and sometimes I take it for granted. This story is about a girl named Emerson Pressman, Emmy for short, whose mother died because of the disease and was sent to a camp by her father and stepmother. The camp's name was Camp Positive, where all kids with HIV positive went. Their she finds that she is not all alone. I recommend this book to everyone who takes their health and happiness for granted as I did. The quotation "The first time Mom got really sick was right around the time I started to grow out my bangs, so my favorite pictures are the ones where I still have bangs and I know for sure that she was healthy" is my favorite quote, since it shows how she was remembering her Mom in good times.
