The writing is good, the characters are complicated enough and the setting is interesting. On the whole, I like this book. It got kind of long winded for a while near the middle; I am not really all that interested in the details of the fine art world and the continuous name dropping got to me. I really like the epilogue or later years chapters at the end of the book. It was an "A+" way to end the story.

I found myself going back and forth between irritation and sympathy for the main character. She is only a teenager, so she gets away with naiveté that would have been unbearable in an older character. As long as you can remember she is only 17, the suspension of disbelief comes naturally.
