3* is an awkward rating to give as it implies simply 'average'. But that's most certainly what this book was. Average.

As others have already said, I believe the title is totally misleading. The book is much more of an autobiography / comment on herself rather than a guide to modern-day feminism, which is what 'How To Be A Woman' implies. She did, nevertheless, make some wonderful thought-provoking points on feminism that I have brought away with me and will continue to reflect on, they were just unfortunately starkly overpowered by the description of her past.

I also found her writing a little misjudged and awkward to read in places, to the point that I just wanted to skim through rather than take in her writing skill with enjoyment. There were points where I found it really irritating but found that, towards the end, it slowly got much more readable and enjoyable.

Overall, an awkward book that doesn't really know what it is. I wouldn't recommend it to others but would definitely share some of the intelligent points she makes and I did become very fond of Caitlin Moran in the process of reading! So it's definitely not all bad.
