Even though this book was written by Julia's grand-nephew, it stayed true to her voice throughout. This book focuses on her years living primarily overseas from 1948 until about the mid-1960s. The book focuses on her discovery of French cooking and finding her passion in life. There's also a lot about her relationship with her husband, Paul. I loved her enthusiasm, her genuine honesty, and her appreciation and respect for other cultures. Her humanity really touched me. The only negative thing I could maybe say about this book is that she lost me on some of the French dishes. I highly recommend this book. Also, the photos were great!
