This series made for an easy read during break that didn't require much thinking, but was still enjoyable. Most of Patterson's young adult novels, including this series, seem specifically geared toward the reading level of students in middle school. Since many authors tend to write for either much lower or higher levels, I have found myself frequently recommending both Patterson and Rick Riordan novels for students of that age level.
