The story was, in a word, weird. I'm not sure if something was lost in the translation but the dialog seemed stilted and robotic. Most of the story takes place in the thoughts of the two main characters, Aomame and Tengo, as they go about their day, which gets old. While parts of the book held promise, like Tengo's ghost writing and Aomame's "profession", the weirdness factor was too difficult for me to overcome and get into the story.
