Read from January 05 to 13, 2012

In Goldenseal, the world of Little Dip, and the Garoul family that preserve it, is well enough drawn to have you believing in werewolves (almost). The story is funny, a little spooky and has enough tension to keep the pages turning long after the lights should be out. The main characters are full of a passion and intensity that is really compelling. And despite the strange setting, the issues are really relevant. For me, Leone's fears and insecurities are kind of universal. It's scary letting people see who you truly are, even when you're not a werewolf.

At times the story did make me flinch and wonder for the safety of some of the residents of this world. But at the end, I closed the cover and went looking for the second in the series straight away.

Recommended.
