Great story and great execution. Love the world and the mythology, i loved learning about it and was appealing. It was nice and unique read filled with action and suspense. It also have a nice cover.

Mortal Obligation is about a seventeen year old girl, Ree who wants to get on with her life and she's being very anxious about seeing things and being followed. When Ree and her friends goes out, she'f forgotten about the tickets and went back to get them. Ree and Paden starts to sense something wrong and they get attacked and Ree's boss, Sophie comes to the rescue and tells Ree to get all her friends to meet her later. Ree learns more about herself and her destiny as well as her other friends destined as guardians - Paden, Mel, Jules, Weylin and Bryce. Being all gifted with unnatural powers by the Gods, she must devote herself into a battle and protect all against the Dark Ones.

It was really an interesting read and love the characters, in fact there isn't a single one of them i don't dislike. My favourite character of all would have to be Paden. He's so protective of Ree and acts like a big brother and even though he has feelings for her, he tries not to act against the promise he made to Ree's brother, Tristan.

This book indeed has a love triangle between Ree, Paden and Roland. But i love the chemistry between Paden and Ree more the Roland and Ree. Roland is awesome too with the sarcastic manner.

I was never bored of this book and was glad i found this book. But overall, it was an enjoyable read and would highly recommend it. I'm very eager to reading the next installment. 5/5 rating.

Happy reading :)
