When most readers think of comics, they think of Spider-Man, X-Men, Batman and Superman. We think of superheroes and superpowers, of teenagers and comic-book stores. This image is something that Sea Lion Books is trying to change by targeting a much larger market, such as paranormal romance. That's right: comics for adults, and Sea Lion has selected books by best-selling authors such as Richelle Mead for adaptation.
In December, the final Dark Swan book, Shadow Heir, was published, closing the thrilling series that took readers to the depths of Eugenie Markham. In January Sea Lion released the hardcover edition of Dark Swan: Storm Born Comic #1, giving readers the full-color world of Eugenie, supernaturals, Fae and, in this first issue, Kiyo.
Sea Lion did its homework and collected the best artists, who are also fans of Richelle Mead, to bring her words to life. (Artists on the comic are Dave Hamann and Adam Markiewicz.)......
