really liked it

Recent high school graduate Bria has to escape reality for a while after a long and painful post-breakup. She hops a place to Guatemala and discovers that her tour group is about a generation older than her. So, when the opportunity presents itself to wander off the beaten path with a couple of young backpackers, she grabs it. What follows is a trip of a lifetime. She travels through South America the way the locals do--by chicken bus, foot, and car.
She is soon left with a reluctant travel partner, Rowan, after his sister, Starling, is called to another country to teach at a school. Their destination could also be their undoing, as Rowan has a shady past with the same people they'll be rubbing elbows with very soon. The closer they get to the end of the journey, the more Bria tries to keep from falling for Rowan, and to hide from her own ghosts.
