Jo Nesbo is my new favorite author. I've read three of his books and still want to read the rest. This book was fun, had good pace, was concise and had some interesting plot twists in the end. None of the characters were particularly sympathetic. However, I think it is the mark of a good writer if you can construct a bastard coated bastard and still make him interesting. The novel is relatively short, under 300 pages. This is a good thing as too many authors tend to bloat out their writing (Neal Stephenson, Harry Turtledove, etc.)
