*4+ Stars*

After reading some mixed reviews, I started this book with a little trepidation. And definitely wishing I hadn't read any reviews! Maybe my reaction to this book was sort of the reverse of when you hear a movie is great, the absolute best, and you go see it with such high expectations that there is no way the movie can live up to it, or maybe reading what other people disliked forewarned me to any possible issues I might have and then they didn't bother me so much - either way, I enjoyed this book and I really liked Ben and his path through this story. Yes, some of it almost felt like a technical manual, but I thought it worked in the story. Ben and Ainsley together worked for me. I liked how they supported each other and liked the real person underneath the facade. Not as emotional as some of the other books in the series, or as titillating (for me anyway), but still an enjoyable read.
