I love everything about this series, from its meticulously researched science to its compelling characters to its nuanced exploration of journalistic responsibility to its... y'know. Shooting zombies in the face and running like hell. McGuire's storytelling challenges the mind and wrenches the heart--it's a joy to read!

The mad science is quite a bit madder here than in the first two books, which pulled me a little out of the story at times, but I dove back in with gusto. There's enough scientific grounding and logic underpinning the more fantastic moments that I always felt I was in good hands. I couldn't put the book down!
