The latest in the William Monk/Hester Latterly (now Monk) series.
I've actually been preferring this series to the Pitt series because I find Hester and her work more interesting than Charlotte, though I do enjoy the class issues that come up more frequently in that series.
This story lacked freshness because it was the wrap-up of the book before and there wasn't a lot new. The ending(s) (no spoilers) was/were predictable, both to the crime and to the personal stories.
Will look forward to the next installment.
For anyone just discovering this series, please read the books in order. The early books are especially entertaining.
