The second book in Eddings' first series, Queen of Sorcery picks up immediately after the events of Pawn of Prophecy. While there are one or two very important reveals in this installment, I always found it a bit of a letdown after the series kickoff. On my first re-read in years, that feeling hasn't changed. Don't get me wrong, I still love the book, but in the grand scheme of things not much has gone on. To be fair, the first two books combined still only add up to 700 or so pages, so in epic fantasy terms, the beginning is just coming to an end. I'm rambling. My point is, it moves the overall plot along--but not that much. If you like the first one, you'll like this one. Such is the nature of these types of series.
