The perfect brain candy to counter the post holiday let down. This one starts with a bang that kept me wondering what the heck happened. The intrepid Stephanie Plum comes back from a vacation in Hawaii and hints that the 2 men in her life interrupted her fun by trying to kill each other. The story unfolds bit by bit so that I eventually figured out what happened.

It turns out that Stephanie was the unhappy recipient of a photograph while she was on the plane ride back from Hawaii and this causes all kinds of havoc. Amid the usual job of her trying to catch FTAs (failed to appear) for her cousin Vinnie, she gets involved in a treasure hunt for the photograph. You'll have to read the book to find out why the photo is so important.

Along the way, Stephanie and Lula try and eventually succeed to capture a few felons, but not without a lot of help from Ranger, Morelli and a few others. Stephanie gets assaulted a few times, has run-ins with the FBI (real and fake) and drives her poor mother to drink (nothing new here).

I enjoyed this quick read and thought the ending was very cute. If you've never read a Stephanie Plum novel, don't start with this one, because you won't know who is who.
