Stolen away was a quick read. I read all of Alyxandra Harvey’s books and the writing style is always flawless. Just note that this review might be at some points a little bit spoilery.
I have to admit that Stolen Away is the one I liked the least. There was nothing wrong with the book per say I just didn’t get into it as much as I expected to.
I like the two main characters that shares POV (Jo and Eloise) but when Jo and Eris shared the big “I love you” it made me cringe.
The characters are different, but yet very simple. It seems that Harvey was trying to give levels to her characters but sadly they seem to be mostly uni level, there is not a lot of background on the characters.
The plot is very simple too, there was not a lot of surprises.
I think this book might be a lot more enjoyable for younger teens.
In conclusion: Stolen away is definitely for younger teens, The book was a quick read but the extreme simplicity of characters and plot might not make it such an enjoyable read for older teens.
