I liked this book a lot and the ending was a surprise (a good surprise). I loved the old photographs in the book. Although I was a little aggravated with the writing style throughout the novel, after reading the last pages, I understood that we were inside Laurel's head. The only thing that I wished is that Bohjalian would have used the other characters to explain more about Laurel's situation and her frame of mind(for example - David's daughters and Gatsby's house).
