** spoiler alert ** I had some issues with the leading lady, Hannah Jesset. She was a guidance counselor at a college and tended to give out too much unwanted advice throughout the story.
I enjoyed the leading man, Gideon Cage. He wa a man that had been lead down a path of revenge early on and was unsettled with his life.
Hannah went to seek Gideon out when seh thought he was instigating a hostile takeover of her brother's company. She challenges him to a game of chance to get him to back off. She thinks she wins, but finds out that she had bet on a non-existent threat...Gideon had completely different plans in mind.
The story continues with Gideon pursuing Hannah, Hannah resisting and secondary characters here and there. The story plot/subject is pretty entertaining, but Hannah's character didn't sit well with me.
Overall, the story is good. It was one of JAK's early works and it's interesting to see how her early work compares to her work today.
